Man shot to death in Lower Garden District

A man was shot to death in the Lower Garden District on Sunday afternoon, the New Orleans Police Department reported. At 1:43 p.m, NOPD Sixth District officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 600 block of Felicity Street. They found a man, later identified as Johnathan Davis, suffering from gunshot wounds. Medical responders attempted life-saving measures; however, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Davis was 22.

19-year-old shot to death in Central City

A 19-year-old man was killed in Central City on Wednesday, the New Orleans Police Department reported. NOPD Sixth District officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 1300 block of South Saratoga Street, near Thalia Street, at about 5:10 p.m.. Upon arrival, officers found the victim, later identified as Gerren Green, unresponsive with a gunshot wound. Medical responders declared Green dead at the scene, and the incident was reclassified as a homicide. He was 19.

Suspect arrested running from scene of Central City homicide

The New Orleans Police Department apprehended a suspect fleeing the scene of a fatal shooting in Central City. On Friday around 10:25 a.m., Sixth District officers were on patrol near Clio Street and Rev. John Raphael Jr. Way when they heard a single gunshot. Officers discovered an adult male victim lying in the street in the 1200 block of Rev. John Raphael Jr. Way. The Emergency Medical Service was called, and the medical responders pronounced him dead at the scene. The victim was later identified as Cedric Simmons Jr. Simmons was 34.

Double homicide reported in Leonidas

Two men were shot to death Sunday night in the Leonidas neighborhood, the New Orleans Police Department reported. At 10:22 p.m., NOPD Second District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting at Joliet and Jeanette streets. They found two adult male victims down, each with multiple gunshot wounds. The victims died at the scene. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victims and official causes of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of respective family

Central City shooting victim dies of his injuries

The victim in a Central City shooting Sunday (July 26) died from his injuries, the New Orleans Police Department reported. The incident began with a traffic accident on Fourth Street and Claiborne Avenue, police said. After the crash, the gunman got out of one of the vehicles and shot at a man in the other vehicle before fleeing the scene. At around 11:48 a.m., Sixth District officers responded to an aggravated battery by shooting at the intersection at the intersection. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 28-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wounds.

Man shot to death in parking lot outside Dollar General

A man was killed in a shooting Friday afternoon in front of the Dollar General store on South Claiborne Avenue near Toledano Street, the New Orleans Police Department reported. At around 3:30 p.m., NOPD Sixth District officers arrived at the Dollar General, 2841 S. Claiborne Ave. In the store parking lot, they found Kevin Thomas Jr., 35, suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest. Emergency Medical Services transported Thomas to the University Medical Center, where he died. The homicide was the second in New Orleans on Friday afternoon, following one in New Orleans East.

18-year-old identified as victim in fatal Hollygrove shooting

The Coroner’s Office has identified the victim in a Hollygrove homicide on Monday (June 15) as Messiah Thompson, 18. Second District officers responded to reports of gunfire Monday at 4:36 p.m. in the 8300 block of Palm Street. They discovered Thompson suffering from a gunshot wound. The teenager died at the scene. Woman shot to death in Leonidas area

A woman was shot to death late Sunday (May 17) in the Leonidas neighborhood, the New Orleans Police Department reported. NOPD Second District officers responded to a report of shots fired the intersection of Eagle and Hickory Streets at around 11 p.m.. Upon arrival, the officers learned a female victim had been shot and was taken to the hospital by private conveyance. She later succumbed to her injuries. The Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Alexis Allen, 35.

Person of interest sought in homicide on Loyola near Delachaise

The New Orleans Police Department is seeking to speak with a person of interest in the investigation of the shooting death of Brad Martin, 42, on April 21 in the 3600 block of Loyola Avenue. Lionel “Eric” Lotts, 36, is not wanted for arrested in this investigation. However, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives believe Lotts has knowledge of information vital to the investigation and wish to question him. Sixth District officers responding to a call of reporting shots fired on Loyola near Delachaise Street discovered Martin suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.

Vehicle of interest sought in NOPD homicide investigation

The NOPD is seeking to locate a vehicle of interest and its occupants in the investigation of a homicide that occurred Monday (May 5) in Central City. At about 8:45 p.m., the pictured vehicle approached Arthur Netter, 28 – who was standing near a building in the 2100 block of Fourth Street. Multiple shots were fired from the vehicle, one of which struck Netter. He was taken to a hospital, where he died. The vehicle is described as a light-colored – possibly gray or silver – extended cab four-door pickup truck, with flared fenders and wide tires extending past the fenders.
